Choosing the perfect wedding day shoes is a blend of style, comfort, and practicality. Here are some tips to help you find the best shoes for your special day:
Define Your Bridal Style: Match your shoes to your wedding dress and overall bridal style.Does your vintage shoe match the era your vintage dress is from? Does your very timeless, classic dress go with the ‘trending shoes’ that are on shelves right now?
Match the shoes to the dress you love- not the other way around. Your dress really is the star of your wedding day look, let your accessories compliment it. Also, be aware of the fabric your skirt is made of- tulle ball gowns could be shredded by rhinestone shoes. But fear not! We have some tricks for the shoes to help keep this from happening.
Venue Matters: Consider the location of your wedding. Beach weddings might call for dressy sandals or wedges while those strappy summer shoes might feel out of place in a grand hotel ballroom.
Comfort is Key: Remember, you’ll be on your feet for hours. Look for shoes that offer comfort without sacrificing style. Consider a second pair of shoes for the reception. HOWEVER! Be aware that your dress is probably hemmed to the length of your ceremony shoes, so make sure you’re the same height or taller in your reception shoes, otherwise you’ll be stepping on your dress all night long.
