Here’s a list of our favourite things…
Congratulations! You have your dress and it’s ready for the big day. Here are some suggestions we have for caring for it from here.
The best place to get your dress cleaned and preserved
The best double stick/fashion tape
The best spot treatment for the special day
Consider hanging a dehydrator packet or two around your wedding dress. Living in Washington, things can get damp, which can affect your dress’s fabric. Here is a link to some of my favorite DEHYDRATING HANGERS. Just don’t hang this up directly against your dress, in the event of a leak!
Most dresses and veils will do great with the steamer listed above. We don’t recommend ironing anything with lace, beading, tulle, mesh, sequins, pearls, rhinestones, etc. Satin gowns can do especially well with a good steam, they get beautifully crisp!
When you’re getting ready, we suggest to put on jewelry after your dress is on to minimize snags. Make someone else steam your dress, for one because it’s your wedding day and you should be pampered, but also the steam can ruin your beautiful hairstyle and the possibility of a burn on your hand could ruin the most magical of days.
Remember, if there are any holes caused, tears in your train from heels, or beads lost on the dance floor on the big day, we can help repair your dress after the big day. It’s a dress created for this special day, it’s meant to be lived in!
